About
Recognition over prediction.
I'm Pip. I make card decks for minds that run in a lot of directions at once, my own included.
Where this started
A simple frustration
Most oracle and tarot decks are built around prediction, and most of them speak a language of fixing, manifesting and relentless positivity. As an autistic and ADHD educator, none of that fit how I actually move through a day. I didn't want a deck that told me what was coming. I wanted one that helped me notice where I already was.
So I made From Here, an everyday oracle that works by recognition rather than prediction. Then the decks kept arriving: a perimenopause deck written as an 80s problem page, a government department for executive function, permission slips for girls on the edge of their teens, a deck for new parents, two tarots, and three for the people who work in schools.
They look nothing alike on the surface. Underneath, they all do the same thing. They name what's already true, in plain language, without asking you to perform. No good cards or bad cards, no deficit framing, and nothing to learn before you start.
How they're made
Slowly, in small batches
I write and design every deck in Bendigo, Victoria, in evenings and weekends. They're printed in Australia on heavy 400gsm card, come home to me first, and get packed by hand into a cloth bag before they go out.
I keep only a few of each on hand. If a deck is out when you order, it's printed for you and ships within two to three weeks. Postage is a flat $10.55 anywhere in Australia, and extra decks in the same order post free.
Each deck has a free companion site with the full text of every card, so the words are still with you when the box isn't.
Alongside
Pattern & Thread
Particular Things sits next to Pattern & Thread, where I design learning systems for schools and organisations. The education decks, The Staffroom, The First Five Years and The Neurodivergent Staffroom, grew out of that work.
